About Us

Who Are We

PaisleyBARK Atlanta. officially launched in the Atlanta area 2022. However, rescue has been a part of everyday life for our Founder over the past 15 years. Amire K. Gibson, Founder, Owner and President, is committed to providing the best quality life for all animals. Holding a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a specialization in behavior, Amire has combined her degree with her love and passion for Pitbulls that sets her apart from the rest. Although Amire is originally from California, she has resided in the Atlanta area for over 25+ years. Rescue has become a growing industry, unfortunately not for the better as the need for support with Pitbulls in crisis continues to soar. There are so many homeless dogs in general nationwide. Dogs are being euthanized at shelters at alarming rates, simply to make space for more. A significant number of those dogs are Pitbulls, Pit Mixes and Bully Breeds.

PaisleyBARK Atlanta is a volunteer-based 501(c)3 Animal Rescue, sanctuary and community outreach organization. We strive to promote responsible Pitbull ownership, combat Pitbull overpopulation, provide education related to bully breeds, and find qualified homes for those in need. PaisleyBARK Atlanta is committed to fighting unfair legislation against bully breeds, specifically breed restrictions and bans against bully breeds nationwide. Although we are an organization, we are also a community of people who have love and compassion for a breed that is often discriminated against, mistreated and neglected.

While we at PaisleyBark Atlanta feel fortunate to genuinely love and care for this breed, we understand the growing need help as many as we can. PaisleyBark Atlanta employees are not “Like Family” they ARE FAMILY. All are trained to the exact high standard set forth by our Founder. This is not just a job for us, it’s an opportunity to connect with you and your potential new dog by providing the best level of care and training that will assist you and your fur friend with adjusting to your new home. As a pet lover herself and owner of many different species of animals over the past 20+ years, including Pitbull’s, Amire appreciates the opportunity to serve these beautiful dogs as well as the community. We understand that your pets are an important part of families all over the world, and we will treat them as such. Amire is surrounded by dogs daily. She currently has 2 dogs of her own,

Why PaisleyBark Atlanta Chooses to rescue Pitbulls

The answer to that is easy…Why not? Pitbulls have unfortunately overrun the shelters to no fault of their own. Bad breeding, poor training, neglected and abused by humans, Pitbulls have sustained the most mistreatment by our human population. The stigma attached to them has caused them to be viewed in a negative light. When in reality, Pitbulls are the most underrated and the most misunderstood of all breeds. Rescue is not our only challenge. Rehabilitation is often the key factor. One of the problems that we have faced is vetting each individual and finding a home environment that is the best fit for each dog that we place.

Our Commitment

Our organization offers rescue services, rehabilitation, veterinary care, sanctuary, and rehoming for all dogs. PaisleyBark offers training for dogs who have behavioral issues, medical care, immunizations, heartworm prevention, and sterilization for purpose of preventing continued overpopulation.
